1. Scope and information processed
This policy applies to the TraceBack app for iPhone and iPad and to the official TraceBack website. You can contact the app operator through the Support page linked at the end of this policy.
When you grant Photo Library access, TraceBack reads photos and videos, capture dates, media types, and embedded location metadata from Apple Photos. It uses that information to provide maps, map-area photo galleries, feeds, collections, statistics, reminders, notes, favorites, sharing, and export features.
No account is required to use TraceBack. Photo Library access is optional, but photos without embedded location metadata may not appear on the map.
2. On-device photo and location processing
Photo thumbnails, Apple Vision text recognition, and image classification are processed on your device. TraceBack does not upload your Photo Library to a TraceBack server.
Your photos, videos, and their embedded precise locations are not sent to Firebase or Google Mobile Ads. When you explicitly choose to share or export something, iOS processes the selected content for the destination you choose.
3. On-device storage and iCloud
Preferences, hidden-item choices, favorites, notes, profile data, created cards, scan results, and other supported records may be stored on your device.
If you enable an iCloud feature, supported app records are stored in the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple ID. Apple operates iCloud under its own terms and privacy policy.
4. Analytics, diagnostics, advertising, and purchases
TraceBack uses the following services to improve and configure the app, provide advertising, and confirm purchases:
- Firebase Analytics / Remote Config: may process feature usage, app language, TraceBack Pro status, purchase outcomes, device identifiers, and related technical information for analytics and app configuration.
- Google Mobile Ads / User Messaging Platform: may process device identifiers, approximate location inferred from an IP address, advertising data, product interactions, crash data, performance data, and other diagnostics for advertising, measurement, analytics, and service operation.
- Apple StoreKit: Apple processes TraceBack Pro purchases and restoration. TraceBack receives entitlement status but does not receive your payment-card information.
Under Apple's definitions, a device identifier processed by Google Mobile Ads may be used for tracking. TraceBack requests non-personalized ads and disables the publisher first-party identifier. Where required by law, the app asks for consent before loading ads and provides in-app advertising privacy choices.
These providers process data under their contracts, privacy terms, and applicable law. TraceBack requires the third-party services it selects to apply appropriate data protections.
5. Website data
This website does not use advertising cookies. It stores your language choice and analytics-consent choice in browser local storage.
Only if you allow analytics, Google Analytics processes page views, referral sources, browser and device information, approximate region, and related usage information. It uses first-party cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. Advertising storage, advertising personalization, and Google signals are disabled. You can change your choice at any time through “Analytics settings” in the footer.
The website is delivered through Firebase Hosting. Google may process and retain request IP addresses and related technical information for abuse detection and usage reporting. Messages, optional email addresses, and device and app versions submitted through the support form are stored privately in Firebase (Cloud Firestore) to provide support. Form contents are not sent to analytics. Requests become eligible for automatic deletion 180 days after storage. To limit abusive submissions, we process short-term request counts and a hashed identifier derived from the IP address.
6. Choices, retention, and deletion
- Change Photo Library and notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.
- Where available in your region, manage advertising privacy choices in TraceBack Settings.
- Use the in-app data deletion controls, or delete the app, to remove on-device data.
- Manage supported iCloud data through the app or your Apple account settings.
On-device data remains until you delete it. Data processed by third-party services is retained according to each service's purpose, settings, and terms. Where applicable law grants these rights, you may request access, correction, or deletion through Support.
7. Children, international processing, and changes
TraceBack is not directed to children below the age required to consent to digital services in their region.
Global services such as Firebase and Google Mobile Ads may process information outside your country of residence. The safeguards that apply are described in each provider's terms.
This policy may be updated when features, SDKs, laws, or release regions change. When a material change is made, the effective date will be updated and reasonable notice will be provided.

Questions about this policy, data handling, or deletion requests can be submitted through TraceBack Support. Do not attach private photos or precise location information unless it is necessary to investigate your request and you intend to share it.
